Signature have been involved in many hotel redevelopments. From single rooms through to brand new extensions our expertise has helped ensure that the new rooms are finished and available from day one. Key to this is making sure that everyone we work with knows what their part of the job entails and importantly the date it must be completed by.
When you've half a dozen trades on site this can be a minefield. Whilst many of our clients project manage the job themselves, we always keep a weather eye open for any potential snags so they can be rectified in good time before they become a major problem.
One example of this was a hotel that was knocking two small rooms together to create a new suite where we had to fit new poles and large pelmet. The owner specified a grand cornice that really suited the room but would have left no space above the windows to fit our poles. During a routine progress check we talked to the decorator who showed us the proposed cornice. A check back to the owner to discuss the problem and the cornice was replaced with a smaller one before it was installed, potentially saving him hundreds of pounds in redecoration costs and lost bookings.
Project management is one area where trying to say a few pounds can end up costing a lot more.
